The best thing about ditching MacOS

$ find ~ -name ._\* -exec rm -f {} \;

4700 garbage files on my Linux box. Thanks, bizarro MacOS.

  1. Well, if you ever go back to macOS, remember this:

    defaults write DSDontWriteNetworkStores true

    (That is if they haven’t taken that out by the time, like they have so many other things I was used to, even in just the little time I’ve been using macOS.)

  2. Thanks! I know I did this at least once, but it seems to have not taken permanently. Perhaps it gets reset on an OS upgrade, like the time MacOS deleted my /usr/local.
